Visiting this website

This website does not use cookies and does not ask you for any personal information.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It works without cookies and does not identify you.

When you scan one of our QR codes or press a Buy button, we record which code or button was used, which edition, and the date and time. We do not record your name, IP address or device. This tells us which leaflets and locations are useful, nothing about who you are.

The Buy buttons take you to Amazon. Amazon's own privacy notice applies there.

If you email us

We use what you send us to reply and to deal with your enquiry or order. We keep it for as long as we need it for that, and to meet our accounting and legal obligations if you place an order.

Organisations we contact

We contact organisations that support bereaved families to offer a free leaflet for the families they support and copies of the book at a trade price.

What we hold: the organisation's name, website and status (for example, limited company or sole trader), and the business contact name, email address and phone number we use to reach them.

Where it comes from: trade directories, the organisation's own website, online maps and Companies House.

Why we may use it: our legitimate interest in letting organisations that support bereaved families know about a resource that may help them. We contact sole traders and partnerships by phone first and only email them if they agree, and we check numbers against the Telephone Preference Service and the Corporate Telephone Preference Service before calling.

Your leaflet link: each organisation's leaflet has its own private link. We record when that link is opened, not who opened it.

Saying no: reply "no thanks" to any email, or contact us, and we will not contact you again. We keep your organisation's name and contact details on a do-not-contact list so that we can honour that.

How long we keep it: if an organisation does not reply, we delete its details 2 years after our last contact. Details on the do-not-contact list are kept for as long as we send outreach, so that you are not contacted again.

Who else handles this information

Cloudflare hosts this website and provides its analytics. Zoho provides our email. They handle information on our behalf to provide those services. We do not sell or share information with anyone else for marketing.

Cloudflare may process information outside the UK. Where it does, it protects it using the safeguards approved for UK data: the EU standard contractual clauses with the UK Information Commissioner's addendum, or the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Zoho keeps our email in its European data centres in the Netherlands and Ireland; other Zoho group companies may have access under agreements based on the EU's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details of these safeguards.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. You can object to marketing at any time and we will stop. Contact [email protected].

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
